Dr. Sam Perkins

Strategic Adviser

Sam has a Ph.D. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Tasmania & Cambridge University. He has extensive experience in strategic leadership and innovation management at organisations such as UNHCR and Engineers Without Borders. Sam has a proven track-record of developing and executing sustainable and scalable engineering technology at national and local community scales.

Sam is skilled in participatory approaches & design-thinking methodologies, contributing to CAA’s ability to convene effective & outcome-oriented collaborations between industry stakeholders.

Sam served as CAA’s Chief Executive Officer from 2022 to September 2026, before transitioning into a Strategic Adviser role with the organisation.
